A: Yes, certainly, but this MUST be by prior arrangement ONLY. ANYONE TURNING UP WITH A DOG AND WITHOUT PRIOR ARRANGEMENT WILL BE ASKED TO LEAVE IMMEDIATELY. (No refund) Please understand this is a farming community and we and our farming neighbours have stock, our own beloved pets and free-range poultry etc, therefore all dogs must be under control AT ALL TIMES, and on a leash outside of Goldfields Cottage section.
For the safety of our stock, and your dog, you MUST provide a current vet certificate, please.
Also, please understand that dogs must NOT sleep in the Cottage, due to the fact that some guests have allergies.
Q: Is there public transport to Goldfields Cottage?
A: Sorry, no. But there is sealed road to the gate. Most local roads are sealed but some other local roads are unsealed.
Q: Is there a shop available?
A: From a northern direction our nearest shop is at Kurow, a distance of 38 kilometres away. From the south-eastern direction the nearest shop is at Oamaru, 48 kilometres away. Fridge-freezer available in the Cottage, but not at the Schlupfwinkel as it is off-grid.
Q: What should I bring?
A: For Goldfields Cottage; just you and your food. For the Schlupfwinkel; just you and your food. (And chilly bin/eskie if needed)
Q: Can I bring my horse to ride in the area?
A: Yes, certainly. Your equine friends can be accommodated at $10 per night. Please note that in this area, depending on the season, feed could be limited. Please bring hay/rations as required. No horses are to be brought into the Goldfields Cottage section itself. (Yew trees and rhododendrons are toxic to all stock.) However, our adjacent paddocks are available for your equine friend.s
